Questions and answers

Does Allocent replace my payroll provider?
You keep your payroll provider. Export a completed report as CSV or Excel and upload it. Allocent does not sign in to that system, and importing a report does not change the payroll.
Who is Allocent for?
Small businesses and nonprofits that assign payroll costs to projects, then prepare those costs for accounting. A project can stand for a job, department, program, or grant.
What accounting software does it connect to?
QuickBooks Online, on Intelligence and above. A person uses Confirm & Publish after reviewing the journal. Every plan can download a journal CSV once the required accounts are approved. The download does not publish the journal.
What does initial setup involve?
Set up the projects people work on. A project can stand for a job, department, program, or grant. Choose approved time or a saved percentage for each person. A journal role is one kind of line in the journal file, such as labor assigned to a project, administrative labor, or employer payroll taxes. Approve an account for each journal role you will export. Connect QuickBooks Online when that plan includes it. Later payrolls reuse this setup. You still upload each new report and review the result.
Can I review entries before they are posted?
Yes. You can inspect the split and the journal lines first. Debits must equal credits before publish. A person confirms QuickBooks publishing separately. That review does not promise every entry is correct.
How does pricing work?
Plans are based on active workers in a billing month. Core, Intelligence, and Scale have published monthly and annual prices. The pricing page lists those plans.
